Homemade Tomato/Olive/Artichoke Pizza

A couple weekends ago we decided that we wanted pizza, and that we wanted to make it ourselves. We figured that it wouldn't be too hard, even if we made our own crust (which we did)...and it really was easy! The crust was the hardest part and I must confess, I didn't make the crust, Manny did. :)

Alas, our creation! This picture is obviously pre-oven, as I was too busy eating after it came out to bother with a picture. Maybe next time. Anyway...here's our recipe...

Dough Ingredients:
1 (0.25 ounce) package of active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
2 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons white sugar
a dash or two of basil

Dough Directions:
1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, combine 2 cups bread flour, olive oil, salt, white sugar, and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Beat well until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
3. Turn dough out onto a well floured surface. Form dough into a round and roll out to pizza crust shape.   Cover with sauce and toppings and bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Our Toppings:
Ragu pizza sauce
shredded mozarella cheese
sliced green olives
sliced Kalamata olives
artichoke hearts
sliced tomatoes
