Shredded Bed

So Ella may have a little separation anxiety. Why do I think this? Because she rips her bed to shreds almost every time we leave the house. Her one comfy, plush bed has been reduced to this.

Mostly just a pile of not so comfy mush. I really want to get her something else. I'm a sucker for my puppies and want them to be happy and comfy. But does anyone have any ideas of something a little more durable?!

  1. Our crazy Sadie is a chewer too and destroys her beds. We just use towels for her now. She leaves those alone. Maybe Ella would too?

    1. Funny you should say that. As her bed finally bit the dust for the last time yesterday, I just threw some towels in there for her. They're working ok for now.... :)

    2. There are actually doggie blankets. We got those for our dogs and they are super comfortable. You can get them at Petco or possibly Petsmart.
      BTW: Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Joey had this same issue, we were reduced to make him a bed out of foam and we sewed a pretty cover for it (about a $15 project). Both our people size pups love the beds and it stopped the chewing.

  3. Have you tried a Kuranda? Those beds are different...elevated off the ground and made of piping and trampoline material.

Or there's a dog bed made with Tuff Chew technology, or K-9 Ballistics. We've used both for our dachshunds (hey.. don't hate on the weiner dogs ;p) and they seemed to hold up pretty well! Of course we had to replace these eventually, but not bad. Maybe even try a 600-800 denier nylon dog bed. Those will be hard to break apart fast!

    1. that sounds really interesting! although for now the towels seem cheaper. ;) but their sucker of a mommy feels bad that they no longer have a squishy dog bed. Maybe i'll just sew to towels together and put some stuffing in the middle. ;)
