Can't Even Think of a Title

I feel like such a crappy blogger lately. Everytime I think to myself "hm, I should probably write something" that thought is quickly followed by "but what will I write about?" and I quickly psyche myself out.

For a while there (like back in January) I was posting nearly everyday and felt really was all up on my sassy horse like, pfft, this isn't so hard, I just have to keep writing and scheduling posts. But somewhere in between then and now I've gotten busy. And lost motivation. And find other things to do (like nap or run or shop) instead of blogging. I feel bad when I don't blog and really enjoy it when I do, I just can't seem to find the energy or inspiration lately. Except today apparently. Maybe I'll find more soon. :)

My New Hobby

So I've picked up another hobby. I know you're all shocked. I was going to wait to post this until I had a (good) picture of my new hobby. But then I got to the point where omgijustneedtopostsomething. Manny has recently gotten me into cycling. I was really excited about it (hence the willingness to invest in the expensive bike) but it's way more fun that I even anticipated! I love that Manny and I can do this together and as a little bonus, cycling burns tons of calories. Now if I could just stop binging after our bike rides...  Seriously, it's a little ridiculous. Last night we rode 14 miles and then shared a large pizza...and parmesan breadstick bites. Sunday after we rode we had ice cream (we also did that Sunday before last). But seriously, I get so freakin hungry!

Oh, and the other thing about cycling, there are lots of accessories. Is this hobby great or what!? I thought I was done spending when I bought the bike....HA! The first thing you need is bike shorts. Yes, these are a must. There is padding in very important places and road bike seats are very unforgiving. But then you want the cool jersey (I found one on clearance, holla!). And then you want shoes. Yes, there are shoes. I also need to get a helmet at some point but those things are way more expensive than when I was a kid. At least for the ones that don't make you look like a bubble head. Then you need glasses. I actually have a  pair of Oakleys that are a hand me down but they look silly. I think I'm going to start wearing them anyway because I've taken one too many bugs to the eye. There's many more accessories but I won't bore you with them all now, just as I collect them. ;)

Has anyone else picked up any new hobbies lately?

News

All week I've been trying to think of some cute and fun way to reveal my news. And now I've built up all this anticipation and the need to do something awesome is even greater. But I haven't come up with any ideas and I just want to get it out already.

We're finally moving!

Ok, so I know for a lot of you milspouses this is no big thing and even an annoyance. But my husband has been at this base for seven years. (I've only been here for the last two.) We really like where we are but we are more than ready to move and experience a new place.

We're headed to Nebraska and from what I've heard, the city we're moving to is pretty cool. I'm dreading the winter a little bit but, hey, I could use some new snow boots. :)

So soon you'll be seeing lots of posts about packing, planning, and all of that fun moving stuff. Aren't you SO excited?! ;)

My (Not So) Little Splurge

There it is. My new toy. My pride and joy for months to come. Ok, so it looks a little like one of those court-ordered tracking devices, but that's only because my wrists are very small. It looks a lot more normal and cool on Manny. I just look a little like a convict. Despite all of that, I love it. Maybe it's an instant gratification thing, but I just love seeing my exact mileage during my  run. No plotting before and after, just go run and figure it out as you go. :)

I actually haven't been running quite at much recently because we also just got some bikes, but I plan on running during the week and biking on the weekends. This was definitely a splurge but I'm really happy to have splurged on myself a little.

And I know this isn't a dSLR picture, but in my defense, I started this post like 3 weeks ago. ;)

Weekly Money Check Up: 4/9/12

1. The most I've spent this last week was on groceries. Even though we went to the Commissary (which, OMGreallyischeaper), we bought quite a few extras so it made the trip a litte pricey.

2. Today I am thankful for my friends.

3. Money can't buy happiness. One free thing I did last week that made me happy was bathe the dogs. Seriously, they look and smell SO much better!

4. I will consider this week a success if I keep up with the laundry!

5. This Easter I went to the grocery and on an awesome bike ride with friends.

April Goals

Geez. Now that it's April 8th I guess I should go ahead and post my goals. Sheesh.

Ok, so things have been a little crazy around here and I *promise* I will tell you ASAP. Ok, enough with the procrastinating, here are my goals!

1. Write 5 letters.
2. Read 3 books.
3. Run 2x per week.
4. Use only dSLR pitures on the blog.

That's really it for this month. We have a lot of other stuff going on and I don't want to get overwhelmed and bogged down. Especially now since I only have about 22 days to complete these goals. ;)

this week

I know I've been a little absent this week but there's been a lot going on around here. Everything is good and everyone is healthy and I'm hoping to be able to share soon. No, I'm not pregnant. ;)

Hope everyone has been having a great week!
